Community Clothes Closet

Since the 1970’s Inter-Faith Ministries has been providing tangible assistance to homeless and low-income individuals and families throughout the greater Modesto area and our Community Clothes Closet is more than simply a “shopping experience.” It is the delivery of hope for many who pass through its doors. To affirm our client’s dignity and respect, the Community Clothes Closet functions like a store environment – clients pick out their own items to best suit their needs.

Manned wholly by dedicated volunteers, the IFM Community Clothes Closet distributes over 90,000 new and used garments per year and household items to homeless and low-income individuals and families throughout Stanislaus County. The goal of the Community Clothes closet to provide individuals and families with the essentials that may otherwise be unaffordable. The Community Clothes Closet provides diapers and pull-ups to children less than two years of age and also provides school uniforms to families for six local public schools.

The Community Clothes Closet has also helped rebuild the lives of many victims that have been ‘burned out” of their homes and apartments by providing dishes, linens, pots, pans, and small kitchen electronics. IFM’s ongoing commitment to helping alleviate people’s pain and suffering for lack of the basic needs of life is evident at the Community Clothes Closet. The Community Clothes Closet is supported by the generous donations of congregations, individuals, local businesses and community groups. And you can help by making a donation of time, money or goods to IFM.
